Supporting the Environment - Sustainability Staff and students share a personal responsibility to contribute positively to the environment, and each individual can "play their part" by adopting the following behaviors throughout their time at the university: Turn off lights, computer monitors, printers, and other equipment (where it is safe to do so) once finished using them. Read documents on screen, print only when necessary, and choose the option to print on both sides of the paper. Refer to the Printing and Photocopying Policy and guidance for students for more information. Prioritise the reuse of items before placing them in waste and recycling bins. Utilise recycling facilities available across the campus for proper waste disposal. Refer to our Recycling Guide for information on waste placement. Minimise the use of single-use plastics (e.g., cutlery and bottles) and opt for reusable alternatives. Contact the Student Union to purchase your own university-branded reusable water bottles and coffee cups. Ensure taps are turned off to reduce water consumption.
